If you would like to join as a volunteer police Constable or would like to find out more information on the recruiting process, it is recommended that you attend the next recruiting information seminar.
It is being held on 6 February 2012 at Islamic Community Centre, Central Mosque, Conduit Street, Leicester LE2 0JN at 6.30pm.
The seminar will last for about two and half hour. Please arrive promptly as no late arrivals will be accepted.
The Police Recruiting Team and Special Constables will be there to give first hand information about being a Special. They will talk about the role of the volunteer Constable, the training involved, and their duties and responsibilities.
Special Officers come from all walks of life and volunteer to undertake policing duties alongside Regular Officers. They develop skills that are transferable and are highly valued by employers. They are asked to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours a week. Although unpaid, some expenses are covered by the Force; offer extensive training, a Leicestershire Constabulary uniform and the opportunity to gain a wide variety of skills that are transferable to existing or future employers.
Although on this occasion there is no need to book your place, it is essential that you arrive early as parking is limited and only available in adjoining streets. Please use public transport where possible. Please note no late arrivals will be accepted. In the event of high demand on the day, places will be allocated on first come basis.
