Cambridgeshire Police Constabulary

Cambridgeshire Constabulary is divided into three divisions, based on the local district councils. The Northern division covers Peterborough, while the Central division covers Fenland and Huntingdonshire. The southern division encompasses Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire, and East Cambridgeshire.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary was originally formed in 1851. It was then called the Mid Anglia Constabulary, which was a merger of several territorial constabularies within the area, and had the same boundaries as the current force. It was renamed Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 1974, when the new non-metropolitan county of Cambridgeshire was created by the Local Government Act 1972.

At Cambridgeshire constabulary, they are committed to making Cambridgeshire a safer place to live in, work in, or visit. The officers pride themselves in delivering service with integrity, sensitivity and respect. They are constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of service they give to the people who are in the areas they have vowed to protect.

In their quest to serve and protect, they are focused on delivering high quality service to everyone through respect, integrity, and professionalism. They also ensure that their lines are always accessible and easy to contact so that they could promptly respond to any situation that may need their assistance. Response to reported cases are swift and timely. It is also their policy that concerned parties of the cases they respond to are kept updated on the progress of their investigation, so as to keep the parties assured that the police are indeed doing their job.

Together with partner agencies, the Cambridgeshire Constabulary have vowed to keep its residents and visitors safe by quickly detecting crime and by reducing the crime rate through consistent monitoring of the neighbourhood activities. The team members hold regular meetings and make it a point to listen to the views and suggestions of the residents so that they could align local policing priorities which would cater to the needs of the people they serve.
