Community Policing

The UK is made up of many different areas and these areas are all home to many different communities. Each of these has its own different traits and people and no two are ever found to be the same. In this way, the way in which our communities are policed has to be tailored towards these differences. This and the recent rise in antisocial crimes has lead to an increase in community policing strategies.

Community policing is mentioned in just about every policing pledge across the country and it is fast becoming what the public are expecting from their local force. Local policing is now on the rise and a number of changes have been made to increase the level of effectiveness.

Police Community Support Officers have been recently introduced and act as a vital support in any community. They are there to prevent and solve low level crimes and to make communities run more smoothly. They can also act as a link between the police force and the local residents to increase trust and confidence. Their presence is largely reassuring and many residents may feel safer if they can see a responsible and trustworthy police officer walking the beat along their road.

There is now a push to get police officers on the street and playing an active role in the community instead of sitting at a desk at the local police station filling in endless paperwork.

The police force is one of the most diverse organisations in the world and there is a very good reason for this. Being made up of so many different races and religions makes the police forces able to reach many different communities and to interact with many different people. A well integrated police force can also help the public to be more open and willing to accept other cultures as well.

The modern police force has to represent modern Britain and the UK police forces certainly do this. There are now more officers on the streets keeping us safe than there ever has been and there is set to be even more when the government's community policing initiatives kick in.

Community policing is seen as the best way to tackle the problems that we are facing today. The biggest pain as far, as most local residents are concerned, is the tide of petit crimes that seem to be manifesting themselves in our communities. Community policing deters potential criminals and also reassures residents of their safety.

Community policing is the new thing as far as the UK police is concerned and it is the answer to the prayers of many a local community in the UK. Local policing is the very best way of preventing the crimes that are actually effecting the majority of people and a modern and trusted police force is in line with this development. To sum up community policing, it is more in touch and relevant as far as the community is concerned and gives officers a greater scope for making a difference to law abiding people's lives.
